Patriot Act – Senate Passes Amended Version of the Patriot Act

The full Senate has passed a reauthorization of the Patriot Act. This version of the Act differs substantially from the version passed by the House this summer. Accordingly differences must be worked out in committee prior in order to present the Bill to the President. The Center for Democracy and Technology has prepared a memo outlining the Bill, and has links to both the House and Senate versions. Link to CDT
